Our mission: To appreciate, experience, and conserve birds, other wildlife and their habitats; and to encourage and support environmental education in New Mexico.
We try to attract as many new and excited individuals to our organization as possible! We strive to be not only a leader in the New Mexico birdwatching community but also an avenue to express your ideas and concerns about the environment in a productive way. So whether you just want to get out birding, or you want to devote time and energy to making New Mexico a better place for wildlife and nature lovers this is the place for you!

Join Central New Mexico Audubon Society
Joining us is easy! Here’s how it works:
Central New Mexico Audubon Society (CNMAS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit chapter of the National Audubon Society and all local members of the National Audubon Society automatically become members of CNMAS. To join, sign up through the National Audubon Society membership link. Please note that this would be the preferred method for both you and CNMAS.
Alternatively, you may download, print, complete, and mail in our Membership Application (click link to see PDF). Please note that we are an all-volunteer organization and there may be lengthy delays in processing your membership application locally.
Note that if you are RENEWING a lapsed membership, or for any other membership concerns, you will need to contact the National Audubon Society directly and they will process your request. For more information visit the National Audubon Society Website.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or need help with this process.
Volunteer
Central New Mexico Audubon is completely run by volunteers. We are dedicated to keeping this organization as a major voice in New Mexico’s environmental and birding communities and we are ALWAYS looking for help. No matter your skills or availability we can probably find somewhere for you to help out. Additionally, we love new ideas and new projects. If you would like to find out more about volunteer opportunities or have an idea or project you’d like us to consider (and you could help make happen), click here to see contact information for the appropriate committee chairs and board members.
